NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY NEWS // March Madness Meltdown, Season Opener Set for Saturday, March 19th‏

NEW EGYPT, NJ (February 5, 2016) -- As the last bit of remaining snow melts after Winter Storm Jonas, Ocean County’s New Egypt Speedway is heating things up in preparation for their 2016 season opener – the March Madness Meltdown on Saturday, March 19.  This double header of racing action will feature a 50 lap Open Modified event paying $5,000 to win and $400 to take the green, and a 30 lap Open Sportsman feature also on the card, paying $1,000 to win and $100 to take the green.
 
“We’re excited to kick-start the season with a lucrative event highlighting two of our most popular racing divisions,” General Manager, Allyse Wolfinger said.  “It’s been a few years since we’ve had the opportunity to have full control of the season opener and we’re putting forth a strong effort to make this one of the best events of the year.”
 
Plans are in place to make ‘The Meltdown’ a premiere event at New Egypt Speedway.  This year fans can expect various activities, including a pre-race Fan Fest, added giveaways, and an exclusive line of March Madness Meltdown merchandise.
 
As an added bonus to the competitors, New Egypt Speedway is currently collecting additional bonuses and lap money. Laps are currently on sale for a minimum of $15 per lap for the Modified division and a minimum of $10 per lap for the Sportsman. There are also additional sponsorship opportunities available to get involved with the event. Drivers are encouraged to pre-enter for the event.  Modified early entry is $20 and Sportsman early entry is $10 – entry fees for both divisions will see a $5 increase on the day of the event.
 
Pit gates will open at 12 pm for early technical inspection. All cars MUST be inspected before hitting the racetrack. Front gates will open at 3 pm with hot laps starting at 4 pm and racing starting at 5 pm.
 
Adult admission is $25, seniors 65 and older are $23, teens 12-15, members of the military and their spouses are $15, and children 11 and under are FREE. Pit admission is $35 with any track or series license and $40 without a license.
 
New Egypt Speedway sees action on Saturday, March 24 with a free-to-the-public open practice session for all divisions.  Competitors are encouraged to test and tune their machines in preparation for the 2016 racing season.
 
New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 in just minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike.   A racy 7/16-mile D-shaped dirt oval, New Egypt Speedway serves Garden State race fans with some of the best competition in the country.  New Egypt’s state-of-the-art facilities feature daylight-quality lighting and excellent sightlines from any seat in the house.  The grandstands are fully wheelchair accessible with wide, clear, and well-groomed walkways.  Concession facilities serve up everything from roast beef sandwiches to ice cream treats at family-friendly prices.
