FORREST ROGERS MEMORIAL AUG. 8. $10,000 TO WIN FOR MODIFIEDS AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY‏

REMEMBERING FORREST ROGERS WITH MEMORIAL MODIFIED RACE PAYING $10,000 TO WIN AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA  August 2, 2015…One of the richest events of the season for T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified stock cars is set for Saturday, August 8, at Grandview Speedway.  The race remembers the man who had the idea, put together the plan, and built the one-third-mile, banked clay speedway.  The Rogers family led by Forrest’s son Bruce, has kept the track operating as one of the most successful NASCAR weekly short track racing facilities in the nation for 53 years.

The 50-lap Modified classic, sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings, will reward the winner with $10,000 in cash and a strong field of racing talent is expected to be on hand to try, through qualifying events, to make it into the starting field.  Heading up the action for the Modifieds will be point leader Craig VonDohren and challengers Duane Howard, Doug Manmiller and Jeff Strunk.  However there are several talents such as Ray Swinehart, Kevin Hirthler, Tim Buckwalter, Danny Erb, Meme DeSantis and others that will be looking for a win in the rich classic.

Last year the big money went to New Yorker Danny Johnson who was a surprise entry.  Who knows who we will see show up to challenge the regulars for the big bucks.

Also included in the action filled night of NASCAR stock car racing will be the BRC Late Models and the Sportsman.

Racing starts at 7:30 P.M. with spectator gates open at 5:30 P.M.  A few of the notable drivers will be part of the very popular Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet that takes place t the same time the main gate is opened.

Adult admission for the Classic event is $25 while youngsters 6 through 12 pay $5 and those under 6 are admitted free.

Coming up on Saturday, August 15 will be the Henning Trains/Henning Motorsports Night with Lionel posting three Lionel “new state of the art” PRR train sets and some NASCAR 1:64 collectibles to be given out via a raffle for youngsters in the stands.  And the “Lansdale Cannoneers Sportsman Club” will be tossing adult sized Henning Motorsports t-shirts with winners invited to victory lane for quick photo session.

Late Model driver Bill Henning will be celebrating his birthday and Henning Trains will be having an early 75th anniversary celebration.  The Lansdale, PA based business will reach 75 officially in October.

The night of racing will feature the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Moifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars.  Racing starts at 7:30 PM.
