Kressley, Kramer, Hitzler, Buckwalter and Geesaman earn victories Friday Evening at Big Diamond Speedway.

Minersville, PA July 17, 2015 It turned out to be a beautiful night of racing on the USS Achey night at Big Diamond Speedway. Then fans were treated to 5 divisions of racing including the Savage 61 Roadrunners, the USS Achey Sportsman, Slifko Fabrications Street Stocks, the Excel 600 Modifieds and the ARDC Midgets.
The ARDC midgets put on a great main event for the fans and ran the entire event nearly caution free with lots of side by side action in their 20 lap feature event. The fans would see Tom Kunsman would set the early pace with Shawn Jackson right behind him. Tim Buckwalter would pass Jackson for the runner up spot and begin to challenge Kunsman and the two drivers would put on a great battle for the top spot, which Buckwalter secured on lap 7. After the restart on lap 12, Kunsman would fall to 4th place and Trevor Kobylarz and Brett Arndt would take over the 2nd and 3rd spots respectively. Kobylar and Arndt would apply the pressure to Buckwalter, but he never faltered and would take home the win Friday night. Kobylarz would finish second followed by Arndt, Ryan Greth and Nick Wean.

The Savage 61 Roadrunners would be brought to the green flag by Bruce Ditzier and Shon Elk after they redrew for the feature starting positions. Elk would set the early pace but TJ Fitzpatrick was determined to take over the top spot and it only took him 4 laps to work his way from his 10th starting spot to the lead. Elk would continue to put pressure on Fitzpatrick hoping to regain the top spot, but Elk would have some issues on lap 15 and he would allow Terry Kramer Jr. the chance to challenge for the lead. Kramer would over take Fitzpatrick on the 16th lap and despite the best efforts of Jim Kost who tried to put the pressure on, Kramer would bring home the win and Kost would finish in the runner up spot. Rounding out the top 5 were Devin Trexler, Tim Fitzpatrick and Jesse Krasnitsky. The heats were won by Bruce Ditzler and Chris Holland.

The USS Achey Sportsman were ready for action on USS Achey Night. Shawn Light would be the early leader of the event and held off the challenges of Mike Lisowskin until Lisowski found his way to the front on the third lap. Light would then face the challenges of Brett Kressley for several laps and the two drivers would go back and forth until the restart after an incident only 6 brought out the caution and then Kressley would take over the runner up spot and the following lap he would take over the lead form Lisowski. Lisowski and Light would do all they could to try to take the lead away from Kressley, but when the checker flag flew, it was Brett Kressley taking home the win followed by Mike Lisowski, Shawn Light, Doug Hendricks and Wayne Witmer. The heat events were won by Mike Lisowski, Wayne Witmer and Chad Putalavage. The GME Hard Charger award would go to Doug Hendricks for going from 13th place to 4th for a gain of 9 positions. The Kim’s Glass Hard Luck award would go to Matt Clay after he was unable to even start his heat after mechanical issues in the heat sidelined him after he arrived at the track.

The Excel 600 Modifieds would start 28 cars for their feature event Friday evening during the USS Achey night. Tyler Reeser and Michael Burrows would lead the field to the green for their main event. Burrows would take over the top spot with Aaron Bowes on his heels waiting for his chance at the lead, but Burrows would have to deal with Brian Carber and by the 4th lap, it was Carber in the runner up spot and Bowes would shuffle back to third. Last time the division ran at Big Diamond, Richie Hitzler was the one that was victorious and he wanted to get back into Victory Lane and began working his way through the field after starting 9th. Hitzler was up to 5th on lap 9 and kept working his way to the front. Carber would take over the lead from Burrows on the 13th lap and then Burrows had to deal with Hitzler who would pass him on lap 14 and set his sights on the leader, Carber. Hitzler would take the lead on lap 18 and Carber would try everything he could to get it back, but at the checkers it was Hitzler crossing first followed by Carber, Burrows Billy Koch and Charles Bowers. The heats were won by Nathan Brinker, Michael Burrows and Jonathan Josko.

The Slifko Fabrications Street Stock feature was led to the green by Jeremy Becker and Rich Sommer Friday evening. Becker would quickly take over the top spot, followed by Rich Bossinger. Meanwhile, series dominating racer, Jasen Geesaman was waiting for the right opportunity to work his way to the front and on lap 7 he passed Bossinger for the runner up spot and set his sights on race leader, Jeremy Becker. Becker did everything he could to keep Geesaman at bay but on lap 12 it would be Gessaman showing the way with Becker holding off the hard charges of Bossinger. The 3 would battle it out until the end, but it would be Geesaman taking home the win followed by Becker, Bossinger, Jim Sommer and Mike Radocha. The heats were won by Jasen Geesaman and Rich Bossinger
