Dan Green In The NGK Spark Plugs #46 Brings Home 8th Place In The Coveted Firecracker 40!

Bechtelsville, PA – Light rain early in the night delayed the start of the nights racing at Grandview Speedway but once it got going it was a firecracker type of night for Dan Green and the NASCAR BRC #46 Late Model.

 

With a season high 22 BRC Late Models signed in to race, Dan was scheduled 4^th in the 3^rd 8 lap Heat. After watching the 1^st and 2^nd Heat races from the infield the event took to the track and Dan went to work. Dropping back to 5^th at the start as Chuck Schutz #ONE got by on the inside, Bill Henning #80 spun in turn 2 after completing the first lap while running 2^nd. This put Dan 4^th in line for the restart, the event went green the rest of the way with a tacky track which had Dan finishing 4^th at the checkered.

 

Scott Green, Todd Lapp, Jim Alexander, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Bob Higginbotham and Brett Higginbotham of the G & H Motorsports team went to work doing the regular changes to the Brett Higginbotham Web Design's #46.

 

After driver introductions for “The Libs” Liberty Fire Company Firecracker 40, Dan climbed into the 6^th starting #46. The traditional parade laps were complete and the field took the green flag for the 40 lap event, Dan dove to the inside and passed Dave Ogin #31 to move into 5^th for the first 9 laps. On lap 15 contact between Wayne Pfeil #72 and Dan resulted in a left rear flat on the Hot Rod Processing #46. Dan was able to drive into the pits and with help from MANY other team members in the pit area he was able to return to the track within the two laps given to anyone who had a flat tire for this race. Restarting 18^th Dan moved through the field and with a few more cautions and some good driving he was able to challenge Cory Merkel #16 for 7^th but came up just a bumper short to finish 8^th. Dan continues to hold on to 4^th in points 179 behind 3^rd place Wayne Pfeil #72 and 153 ahead of 5^th place Joe “Geezer” Fanelli #22. Congratulations to Sean Merkel #118 for winning his first feature of the year and his first Firecracker 40 victory.

 

Next event for the G & H Motorsports team is Saturday July 11, 2015 and coming up on Saturday July 25^th the #46 will be on display at Little Anthony's Pizza and Grille in Honey Brook, PA from NOON to 3 PM. There will be plenty of FREE stuff from the team.
