MIKE ILES TOPS THE FIELD IN THE SECOND EVENT OF THE MODIFIED 811 DIG SAFE SERIES AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Sicklerville, NJ (May 18, 2015) – Mike Iles topped the field to take the checkered flag in the second event of the Modified 811 Dig Safe Series on the quarter mile track at Bridgeport Speedway.

At the start of the 25-lap feature, second place starting Ryan Forte jumped to the front and grabbed the early lead. Iles, who started the main event in fourth, motored past Johnny Cornell to gain the runner-up position with two circuits recorded. By the fourth lap, Iles gained the lead from Forte with Cornell in third, Ron Roberts in fourth and Richie Pratt, Jr running in fifth. At the halfway mark, Iles had a comfortable lead over Forte and Cornell but a tough battle for fourth between Pratt, Jr., Roberts and Jimmy Horton was just beginning to heat up. On lap 18, Pratt overtook Roberts for fourth and one lap later, Horton edged his way by Roberts for fifth. Two revolutions later, the caution flag waved for the first time for Brett Ballard. On the ensuing restart, Iles remained in command and set the pace in the remaining lap to achieve the victory. Forte, in his first career start on the quarter mile track at Bridgeport Speedway, ran a very strong race to finish in second. Cornell held off Pratt, Jr, and Horton in a heated tussle in the final laps to complete the race in third. Pratt, Jr. and Cornell were the heat race winners. With a fifth place finish, Horton was the recipient of a free racing wheel from Vahlco Racing Wheels. Brett Ballard received the Hard Luck Award from S&D Bodyline.
