at your local dirt track? Let's see you have Football, Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Soccer, Hockey, even NASCAR Fantasy
Leagues under operation. Most are seasonal/yearly leagues but there are some where you can join online for weekly
and yes even daily action...it's become that obsessive. Well Ladies and Gents, look no further as your very own
Bridgeport Speedway will be hosting its first ever Fantasy League.
For those of you that belong to other sport fantasy leagues including a NASCAR league, as you know they can be run
hundreds of different ways, with literally hundreds of different point systems. It's very rare to find two leagues that
are identical, as you can usually find at least one form of criteria that is different when dealing with two extremely similar
leagues.
For those of you who have NEVER participated in a fantasy league, well Dirt Fans here is your chance! As the late-great
Doug Hoffman once said "Don't Be Scared". It's not that difficult to learn, it's a ton of fun, there are prizes to be won, and
here's the best reason to join the 2015 Bridgeport Speedway Fantasy League...It's FREE!
I know what some of you are thinking right about now - "My friend/husband/brother races a Crate/Sportsman and I don't
even know the Modified guys!" OR - "I don't really watch the Outlaw Stocks and I don't know many of them!" That's OKAY guys! Now here's your chance to get to know these guys a little better, maybe even give you a reason to watch a certain division or two now that you have a vested interest in the final outcome.
How Do I Get My Team? First, you will be asked to pick a 'Team Name'- It can be a catchy phrase maybe something about your favorite driver. Basically you get to pick your own name! All we need is a legitimate email for contact purposes and you're good to go.
Drivers? Each fan's Team will consist of 16 drivers. 4 Spirit Dodge Big Blocks, 4 Crate/Sportsman, 4 Outlaw Stocks, and 4 TSRS Sprint Cars (Saturday only events will be counted for all 4 classes).
How Do I Pick My Team? Roughly two weeks before the first 'Points Race'(April 25) a 'Master List' will be released on
www.bpspeedway.com and the League's own Facebook Page. You will be asked to pick 1 driver in each division that finished
in specific positions in last year's final point standings. For example: Every team will have 1 driver that finished in the top 5 in points. The second driver in that division will have finished somewhere between 6th and 10th in the 2014 points. The third driver must have finished somewhere between 11th and 15th, and finally any driver that was 16th or lower which also includes any and all new comers to the division. Now, some drivers may not be racing this season or are switching to another division, that is why the 'master list' will be released after extensive information is collected at the start of the season.
Can I Change My Drivers? Each Fantasy Team is allowed to swap out one driver in each division just once, let's say for a
season-ending equipment misfortune. The driver being 'dropped' will have to be replaced with a driver who was originally
in that same category back in April at the time of the draft. If Team 'X' drops player 'Y' who was 15th in last year's standings
the 'added' driver must have been in the 11-15 bracket entering this year.
Scoring/Points? Each Fantasy Team driver will receive the same amount of points for each feature event as they do in the
real 2015 points system. If one of your drivers win the feature they will earn 60 points just like the 'real point standings'.
If for some reason your driver is absent, unfortunately you will receive 0 points, so it is wise to try and pick a driver that you
know will be there for most, if not all of the races. To add a little spice, all Heat Race Winners will receive 5 bonus points.
When Do I Register My Team? Once the Facebook page is launched in mid-April you will have until April 25 (Noon) to register your team for the 2015 season.
You can obviously track your own team's results week in and week out as well as your competition, but Bridgeport Speedway will have that all calculated and tallied a few days after Saturday's races. We're sure that there will be plenty of questions especially for those who have never been part of a fantasy league before and rest assured they will all be answered for you on our interactive Facebook page or via email.
Prizes & Winnings? There will be all types of prizes for the top finishing teams at the end of the season, as well as special
weekly prizes that will be handed out throughout the year. Items such as, free passes, T-shirts, food vouchers, electronics,
skybox rentals, and even a Season Pass for the 2016 season! What do you have to lose-Everything. What does it cost-Nothing.
