Dan Green Gets Back Into The Top 5 In The Lazer Chassis #46!

Bechtelsville, PA – Saturday was a normal raceday for the G & H Motorsports team unlike last week with the rain out. We needed to leave early enough to get to Grandview Speedway for the Low Down and Dirty, Meet and Greet to give out plenty of handouts from our partners.

Dan and the team had a great time at the meet and greet getting to know fans and we thank the guys at Low Down and Dirty for asking us to come out, this was our third time doing it. We were able to give out some special Give-A-Ways from Linda's Hair Techniques, Scott Select of West Chester, Scott Honda of West Chester, Auman Photography and G & H Motorsports.

With the Meet and Greet over Dan took the car to the pits so he could attend the drivers meeting. After the meeting the cars took to the track for warm-ups, this allows the largest number of NASCAR BRC Late Models to make sure their car is ready to race. The Late Models were the featured class for the night as all 24 drivers received gift certificates from Bernheisel Race Components and Superior Products. They were able to hand out over $7,000 worth of products. We would like to thank Jim and his staff at BRC for sponsoring the night and the class for the Late Models for 2014.

Dan started 5^th in the 2^nd 8-lap Heat race and was running in 6^th for a lap before he was able to get back to 5^th at the checkered in the non-stop race. The Late Models also had a Cash Dash with the top two finishers in the two heat races running a 3-lap race. We congratulate #16 Cory Merkel on winning the Cash Dash.

Todd Lapp, Bob Higginbotham, Scott Green, Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Jim Alexander and Brett Higginbotham went to work to get the #46 BRC Late Model ready for the feature later that night. G & H Motorsports also had special help from Joanne and Jim Rinella who were in from Chicago to see family and watch Dan race.

Dan started 8^th in the 24 car field for the 30-lap NASCAR BRC Superior Products Feature event. Dan never ran below that as he took 7^th on the first lap, then 6^th on lap 2, and 5^th 4 laps later. On lap 6 Dan passed the #4e Lou Egrie Jr to take 4^th and by lap 11 Dan was running in 3^rd behind #10 Randy Stoudt and #22 Joe “Geezer” Finelli. The top 3 stayed like that until lap 20 when Dan and #ONE Chuck Schutz got by Finelli. Dan ran in second for 8 laps when Schutz, who started 23^rd, drove around Dan to put the #46 3^rd for the last three laps as he took the checkered. Stoudt took the win for his 6^th of the year, Schutz 2^nd, Dan 3^rd, Finelli 4^th, and #118 Sean Merkel rounding out the top 5. The 3^rd place finish keeps Dan in 6^th for the point season which ends next Saturday night September 6. 2014.
