Sicklerville, NJ (August 11, 2014) – After several unlucky events in the 2014 racing season, the hard work of the H&A Motorsports team began to pay off with a solid run on Saturday, August 9 at Bridgeport Speedway. Battling a loose race car in the 25-lap feature, Corey Andersen, the driver of the 9A Big Block Modified nearly pulled off a top ten finish.
Andersen started the night of action with a strong run in his qualifying event. In his heat race, the wheelman from Mullica Hill, NJ qualified for the feature contest by finishing third. In preparation for the main event, the crew tightened the Bicknell chassis. Starting in third place in the twenty-four car field, Andersen jumped into second place and chased Stan Frankenfield, Jr. for the lead. Following a restart after a caution period on the seventh circuit, Andersen began to slip back in the pack. “The car was still a little too loose for the feature,” commented Andersen. When the checkered flag waved, Andersen had nearly scored a top ten finish after being scored in twelfth place. The team is looking forward to the next event at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, August 16. In addition, the H&A Motorsports team is planning to be at the Modified Mayhem quarter mile practice on Friday, August 15.
