LAUBACH RETURNS TO BRIDGEPORT VICTORY LANE
Kyle Purks, Travis Hill & Jimmy Avery Pick Up Bridgeport Wins

2012 Bridgeport Champion, Rick Laubach earned his second Bridgeport win of the season as he powered the Gary & Lori Hermann owned #7 past Richie Pratt Jr. late in the twenty-five lap Spirit Dodge Big Block Modified feature event.   Kyle Purks became the fifth different winner in Hilborn Tri-State Race Saver Sprint Car action at the Bridgeport Speedway in 2014.  Travis Hill won for the sixth time in 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman competition while Jimmy Avery became a three time winner in the Stewart Stainless Outlaw Stock feature event.

Stan Frankenfield Jr. led the Spirit Dodge Big Block Modifieds for the first eight laps of the feature event until Richie Pratt, jr. raced his way into the lead on lap nine.  Pratt pulled away from the field and with five laps to go, it looked like Pratt would claim his second win of the season.  On lap twenty-two, Laubach made his move past Eric Kormann to take over second and then set his sights on Pratt.  Within one lap, Laubach had closed in on Pratt, completely erasing the sizeable lead that Pratt held less than one mile earlier.  Pratt and Laubach raced down the homestretch side by side to take the white flag for the final lap.  Laubach burst into the lead with less than a half mile remaining to the checkered flag.

Laubach utilized different lanes on the race track as he raced his way from his fourteenth place start.  "Keith ( Hoffman) is doing a super good job on the track," Laubach stated.  "There is really good racing here.  People should come out and see for themselves," Laubach added.

Laubach took the win over Pratt. Korman finished third followed by Frankenfield and Dominic Buffalino.

2014 DA's Auto Body & Repair Rookie Champion, Matthew Peck led the first lap of the 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman Feature event before Travis Hill took control on the second lap.  Hill led the rest of the way as he raced to his sixth win of the season in his Joel's Auto Technologies #19.

Hill led CJ Jones to the waiting checkered flag as Jesse James Bonaduce finished third for his fourteenth top five finish of the season.  Steve Searock finished fourth while Jesse Hill rounded out the top five and won another Searock Landscaping Hard Charger Award for his drive from the fourteenth starting spot.

Jimmy Avery won his third Stewart Stainless Outlaw Stock Feature event of the season after taking the lead from Gary Klimeczak and leading the final three laps of the event.  Klimeczak went on to finish second followed by Tom Princiotta, Pat Conaway and Steve Michel.

Kyle Purks earned himself and Ace along with his first win of the season in the Bethman & Sons Auto Center/Champion Tire/Bruce's Speed Poker Series Race for the TSRS Sprint Cars.  Purks became the fifth different TSRS feature winner at the Bridgeport Speedway this season.

Tim Tanner led the field of sprint cars to the start but a multi car incident on the homestretch brought an immediate halt to the racing action.  Most cars were able to restart after a car near the front of the field got out of shape on the start.

Tanner took the lead on the complete restart and held off the challenges of Adam Carberry.  Purks took over second on lap two.  Tanner headed to the pits with mechanical issues under  a lap three caution with Purks inheriting the lead.

Purks held off the challenges of a persistent Adam Carberry for most of the remaining laps.  Eddie Wagner made a late race move to take second and trailed Purks across the finish line.  Carberry finished third.  Two time TSRS champion, Mike Haggenbottom overcame damage received in the lap one incident to come from the rear to finish fourth.  Karl Freyer,  a previous Bridgeport winner, finished fifth.

Jonn Brennfleck, Adam Carberry and Tim Tanner received $25 gift certificates for Aero Wings from Thayer Performance for their wins in the three heat races.
