BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 5, 2014 . . . This Saturday, August 9th, one of the classic events of the season will take place at Grandview Speedway with the running of the Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings. The 50-lap race, paying at least $10,000 to win, will feature the NASCAR 358 Modifieds and with that amount of money being offered it is quite possible that there will be some visitors, outside competition, coming to try for the pot of gold that also includes $250 from TP Trailers of Limerick and $150 in product from VP Racing Fuels provided that the winner has the proper decals on the winning car and is using VP racing gasoline.
During the more than 40 years that the annual Classic has been presented it has been won by some of the top names in the sport.
Also included as part of the night of stock car racing action will be the exciting BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars.
A full slate of qualifying races will be run and earn the drivers starting spots in the three different feature stock car racing events. At least a dozen events are on the schedule for the night’s activities. Just five more Saturday night NASCAR point events remain as drivers battle to win titles and improve their positions in the point standings.
Grandview continues to be one of the very few weekly short tracks that offer two separate point funds, one being a NASCAR fund and the other provided by the Rogers family.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for spectators and that will also be when the weekly Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet takes place featuring Pioneer sponsored racers Craig VonDohren, Kevin Hirthler, Brian Hirthler and Chuck Schutz.
Adult admission for the Classic will be $25 while youngsters 6 through 12 pay just $5 and kids under 6 are admitted free.
The Forrest Rogers Memorial does have a rain date of Saturday, August 16th. If the rain date is not needed then a regular three division show of NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman stock cars will be presented.
On Sunday, August 10th, another in the year-long series on Outlaw Enduro events will be presented with a 1 p.m. starting time. Included in the show will be the Blast from the Past Vintage Racers.
The Late Model stock cars will have another night in the spotlight on Saturday, August 23rd when Bernheisel Race Components Superior Products Night is presented with a 30-lap feature topping the action for the BRC Late Models.
More than $5000 in various products will be awarded to Late Model racers including products from Wehrs Machine, Wildwood Brakes, Performance Bodies, Afco, Allstar, Mikes Custom Tanks, Joes Racing Products, Turbostart, Outpace, Mapco Machine, Jones Racing Products, Bull Dog Rear Ends, Quickcar Gauges, Eibach Springs, RJS Safety Equipment, Fast Shafters and Schoenfeld Headers.
Each Late Model racer taking part in the night’s racing events will take home an envelope with product awards certificates inside. The value of the awards average out to $220 each with the highest being $320. Each Late Model must have a clearly visible BRC decal on both sides.
All the awards will be redeemable at Bernheisel Race Cars, Inc.
The NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Sportsman stock cars will also be part of the big night of stock car racing action.
