Dan Green Dedicates 6th Place Finish In The HOT ROD Processing #46!‏

Dan Green Dedicates 6th Place Finish In The HOT ROD Processing #46!

Bechtelsville, PA – Saturday was finishing up the details on the NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model #46 that Dan Green drives at Grandview Speedway. The G & H Motorsports team loaded the car after scaling it and headed to the track.
The night started out with the G & H Team helping out a new driver to the track by giving Tony Giglio #16X some of our old tires and helped him mount them on his wheels.
Just before the warm-ups, Dan and the team met in the trailer and dedicated this night of racing to Dan's young cousin Joshua Houck. Josh is very sick and has been hospitalized since March. Hoping to bring a smile to Josh's day, the team prayed for healing for Josh and for safety in the evenings events.
The Heat Race was Dan's first real test for the new set-up the team put under the #46 during the past week. Starting 5th in the second 8 lap Heat Race and restarted 4th after a first lap spin by Lou Egrie Jr #e4. The green came back out and Dan held his spot for a couple laps but the new set up was not the correct one without some more adjustments. Dan dropped back a couple spots to finish in 6th at the checkered.
Cathy Green, Debbie Dutter, Meleny Green, Scott Green, Jesse Bivins, Bob Higginbotham, Greg Hoffmaster and Brett Higginbotham of the G & H Motorsports team got the #46 ready for the feature event.
With the normal changes made to the car, Dan had confidence that would be the right ones. As the 25 lap Feature event got the green flag, Dan drove into turn one and did not expect Bill Henning #80 to slow down as much as he did so Dan got hard on the breaks so he would not hit Henning and spun out in turn one. No other driver was involved so Dan rejoined in 17th for the restart. Dan was able to miss a few more accidents and pass a few cars to run in 5th spot for a number of laps until Kory Fleming #704 was able to get by to put Dan 6th at the finish. Randy Stoudt #10 went on to claim his fifth feature event victory. With the night over for the Late Models Dan remains 6th overall in the points race which only has 4 weeks left in the 2014 season.
The night was a big night for the Modified's as it was the 44th Annual Forrest Rodgers Memorial 50 Lap race, invader “Doctor” Danny Johnson was able to walk off with the first place money.
Dan is scheduled to be a guest on Low Down and Dirty on Tuesday Night August 12. Low Down and Dirty is an internet radio program for local race fans and your able to listen to it from 8:05 PM to 10 pm at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/lowdownentertainment the G & H Motorsports team is also scheduled to be part of the Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet on August 23 at Grandview Speedway.
