With Mother Nature forcing the cancellation of last Saturday's race night, the Bridgeport Speedway is packed full of action for the upcoming Labor Day weekend!
Action gets underway on Friday night at 8pm with 600cc & 270cc Micro Sprints as well as 4 Cylinder Enduros and the Gasko & Sons Greenhouses sponsored 8 Cylinder Enduros.
Last week's Friday night program was completed as Chris Locuson picked up his first win of the season in the 600cc Micros. Glenn Frye won his second feature of 2014 in the 270cc Micros while Scott Dunn became a seven time winner in the 4 Cylinder Enduros.
On Saturday night, the Bridgeport Speedway will host Union Night AND First Responder's Night. There was a nice display of equipment on hand from local fire and rescue squads before the rains forced the cancellation of last week's show. The First Responders will be asked to show off their equipment with a lap around the 5/8 mile speedway during the racing program on Saturday night.
If you live in Deptford, Blackwood or Turnersville, NJ you are invited to attend the August 30th races as the guests of the Bridgeport Speedway! With the holiday weekend at hand, this would be a great time to experience the thrills of stock car racing - the only track in the state where the Big Block Modifieds compete on a weekly basis!
There will be racing action provided by the Spirit Dodge Big Block Modifeds, 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman and Stewart Stainless Outlaw Stocks who will compete in Twin 12 lap feature events. There will also be Powder Puff races for the ladies. Pleny of action for everyone! Race time is 7pm.
Sammy Martz and Jimmy Horton were the winners in the Twin 20 Modified features when the 5/8 mile speedway ran two weeks ago. It was win number two for Martz and win number six for current point leader, Horton. Jesse Hill won his second Crate/Sportsman feature event of 2014 while former track champion, Pat Conaway earned his first Outlaw Stock win of the season.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet Big Block Modified feature winner, Richie Pratt, Jr., 2014 DA's Auto Body & Repair Rookie Champion, Matthew Peck and Outlaw Stock competitor Ken Moren. These three drivers and their cars will be on hand when the grandstand gates open to welcome fans! They will answer questions, pose for pictures and sign autographs until they have to head back to the pit area to prepare for the night's competition.
The Bandit Bus will be available to take fans through the pit area throughout the night so that you can see the race teams preparing their cars for competition. No other speedway offers this type of fan experience!
Come on out to the Bridgeport Speedway! Bring your family! Bring a friend! Make the stock car experience, your experience this weekend!
