$25,000 WAITS FOR WINNER OF THE 44TH ANNUAL FREEDOM 76 MODIFIED STOCK CAR RACING CLASSIC AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY ON SEPTEMBER 13
Friday, September 12, ARDC Midget and ROC Sportsman races added
BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 26, 2014 . . . The Granddaddy of dirt track Modified stock car racing classics, the Freedom 76, is set for Saturday, September 13th at Grandview Speedway. $25,000 plus other perks wait for the winner of the 44th annual classic.
Added to the weekend of racing action for the first time is a Friday, September 12th, doubleheader show of ARDC Midgets and Race of Champions Sportsman stock cars. In addition Modified racers planning to race on Saturday will be invited to participate in practice sessions as part of the Friday night show.
Already indicating they will be trying for starting spots in the Freedom 76 are six time race winner Billy Pauch, modified standout Ryan Godown and rising star Billy Pauch Jr. Modified racing legend Danny Johnson, winner of the recent Forrest Rogers Memorial, has a guaranteed starting spot for the race.
Many area Modified racing standouts are expected to enter along with Grandview stars such as Craig VonDohren, Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Doug Manmiller, Meme DeSantis, Kevin Hirthler, Mike Gular, Kevin Hartnett, Jon Kellner and many others.
More than 70 racers were on hand to try for starting spots in the 2013 Freedom 76.

The Friday night show of Midgets, Sportsman stock cars and Modified practice will start at 7:30 p.m. and will have a $12 admission for adults, youngsters 6 through 12 pay $5 and under 6 are admitted free.
Action on Saturday will have warm-ups at about 6 p.m. with qualifying events for the Freedom 76 getting the green at 7 p.m. Also included in the night of racing will be the Schaffer Motorsports Minuteman 20, a Cash Dash featuring top performers and the Freedom 76 Classic. Adult admission is $35 while youngsters 6 thru 12 pay $10 and kids under 6 are admitted free.
Lap sponsorships are available at $20 a lap and can be purchased at the pit office, track office or by contacting Ernie Saxton at 215.752.7797. Qualifying event sponsorships are priced at $250 and are available from Saxton also. More than half the laps are taken and just two event sponsorships remain.
Bobby Guther Walsh and his sponsors have posted a $300 award for the Hard Charger and T.P. Trailers has offered a $200 Hard Charger Award while qualifying events are sponsored, so far, by Stoudt Auto Sales of Reading, T.P.Trailers of Limerick, Dave’s Auto Service of Boyertown and Bill’s Printing of Trenton, NJ.
The final NASCAR point event of the season is set for Saturday, September 6th, 7:30 p.m., when the Green Lane Wm. Penn/Four Star Lettering Night is presented featuring the NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars.
