VIBRATION CURTAILS STRONG FINISH FOR THE H&A MOTORSPORTS TEAM
Sicklerville, NJ (July 28, 2014) – Coming back from a vacation week, the H&A Motorsports team reentered the Spirit Dodge Big Block Modified competition at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, July 26. The team’s 9A Big Block Modified appeared to be heading to a strong finish when a vibration forced driver Corey Andersen to retire from the event with eleven laps remaining.
Andersen qualified for the 25-lap feature by finishing fifth in the first qualifying race after starting the 8-lap contest in ninth place. Starting in nineteenth place in the twenty-four car field, the racer from Mullica Hill, NJ quickly advanced several positions. By the eighth tour of the five-eighth mile oval, Andersen was in eleventh place and appeared to be heading to a top ten finish. When the vibration was noticed by Andersen, he decided drive into the pit area and retired from the race. “I felt the vibration and I wanted to play it safe,” reasoned Andersen about his withdrawal from the feature that resulted in an eighteenth place finish. The Bicknell Big Block Modified will be thoroughly reviewed by the team before the next event at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, August 2.
