BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY READY FOR "CRAZY" RACING THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 6th
MINERSVILLE, PA - June 4th, 2014
Things are going to be "crazy" this Friday evening at Big Diamond Speedway. For the second year in a row, Big Diamond Speedway is happy to present the "Crazy 8's" event for the Savage 61 Roadrunner division. Four features - 8 laps each. That's it. No heat races. No consolation races. Just four "throttle to the floor" 8 lap feature events that are just as exciting for the fans as they are for the racers. The first feature event will be lined-up via "luck of the draw" as the racers sign in for the evenings events. The winner of each feature event will then pick an invert number from a bag to determine how many cars will be inverted for the following feature event. Drivers will want to race hard but smart, as each 8 lap feature event carries its own set of points towards the years long point championship. Two time feature winners Tom Hablett, Jeremy Becker, and Tim Fitzpatrick Jr. are among the favorites for these events, but there are at least a dozen other competitors who could put their car in victory lane. Should be a fun night of racing for this popular division.
Also on the card are the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, along with the Jeremy Slifko Fabrication Services Late Models. Billy Pauch Jr. goes for his third feature wins if the season in the Modifieds, while Ray Swinehart looks for his second win of the season. It won;t be easy, as track regulars Craig Von Dohren, Jeff Strunk, Meme Desantis, Duane Howard, Frank Cozze, Stewart Freisen, and many more are still looking for that first win of the season at Big Diamond Speedway. Gates open at 5 PM, warm-ups are at 7:45 PM, and the first heat hits the track at 8:15 PM. Adult general admission for the June 6th event will be $15.00. Students ages 13 to 17, seniors, and active military (all with valid ID) are $13.00. Kids 12 and under are free as always. Pit participation fees are $30.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members.
The following Friday, June 13th is the 2nd Annual ANDY FAYASH MEMORIAL. The USS Achey Sportsman are in the spotlight on this evening going 30 laps for $3,000 to win and $157 to take the green as long as 26 or more cars sign in for competition. If less than 26 cars compete, the winners share is still an impressive $1,570 to win. All Sportsman cars from other speedways are welcome to compete withtheir home track rules package. Only Hoosier D300 or harder tires and American Racer 44 or harder (Left Rear) and 48 or harder (Right Rear) are legal for this event. Steel or aluminum wheels are legal. Regular body style or sail panels are legal. VP Racing Fuel must be used and transponders are mandetory. Grandstand general admission for this race is $20.00 per person. Kids 12 and under are free. Pit participation fees will be $30.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members. This is a very special night at the track in honor of a great man and great racer that left us much too soon. We hope every comes out to support this wonderful evening of racing.
Also on the card that night will be the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar 358 Modifieds and Savage 61 Roadrunners. For the Roadrunner division, this will be a non-points event.
Mark it on your calendar now - Tuesday night, June 24th it's the return of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series to Big Diamond Speedway.
