Bechtelsville, PA - G & H Motorsports started off Grandview Speedway's 52nd year at the Meet & Greet outside the main gate where Dan Green autographed hero cards, gave fans a chance to win free gifts and had goodies from our sponsors as handouts. Andrew Toothman, our Amsoil sponsor, was on hand and met some of the fans with Dan.
When the team got back to the trailer it was time to start getting to work. Dan had the driver's meeting to get to, and the crew had to get the car ready for warm-ups. Running warm-ups letthe team know that the HOTROD Tracker #46 was running well for the night and the work over the winter was paying off.
Scheduled 8th in the 1st heat Dan took the #46 out and ended up starting 6th because two cars elected to start in the rear. The green came out for the 8 lap heat and Dan found a line to get comfortable and finished 6th in the non-stop race.
After coming into the pits the crew went to work to get the car ready for the 25 lap feature event. Jesse Bivins, Todd Lapp, Scott Green, Greg Hoffmaster, Bob Higginbotham and Brett Higginbotham all did what needed to get done. The line-up was posted and the #46 Dan Green HotRod Processing Late Model was scheduled to start 11th on the inside of #ZT1 of John Giesler. After a couple tries at going green (one in which Dan received a little body damage) the feature got going, but unfortunately did not stay green for long runs. In the end the Scott Select #46 came home in 6th place for a nice way to start off the season.
The 2014 season opener was a busy, challenging, competitive night and a great way to start the year for the #46 NASCAR Dirt Late Model. We would like to thank all the fans that braved the freezing weather to watch the races.
