410 SPRINTS JOIN ROC MODIFIEDS FOR SPECTACULAR
DOUBLEHEADER AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY TUESDAY, JULY 30
For the first time ever, the 410 Sprints and ROC Modifieds
will share the spotlight in the unique double-header to take place at the
Grandview Speedway on Tuesday night, July 30 as the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on
the Hill Racing Series returns to action at the Grandview Speedway.
The 16th Annual Pioneer Pole Buildings ROC 60 lap
Traffic Jam will pay $5,000 to the winner as the MACH 1 Chassis 35 lap 410
sprint car feature will also payout $5,000 to the victor. Never before have
these two divisions come together for a show that will certainly “rock” the
house. “Race fans were extremely disappointed that rain forced the
cancellation of the recent 410 sprint and 358 modified twin-bill at Grandview on
July 2nd “, commented event co-organizer Bob Miller. “Track owner
Bruce Rogers and I worked through some details, reached out and contacted many
of the 410 sprint drivers and were able to bring these two divisions together on
Tuesday, July 30.”. A total purse on more then $48,000 is
posted.
Fred Rahmer, Greg Hodnett, Lance Dewease, Chad Layton, Brian
Montieth, Ryan Smith, Billy Dietrich and Ryan Wilson are a few of the drivers
who have already agreed to take part in the MACH 1 Chassis 35 lap 410 sprint
feature. Time Trials and heat race qualifying will lead up to the $5,000 to
win, $1,000 for tenth and $400 to take the green 35 lap feature
event.
A $500 cash bonus is posted by MACH 1 Chassis in
Mechanicsburg, PA and will be awarded to the driver that has the best combined
finished between the July 30 410 sprint show and the June 5 USAC event at
Grandview. Mach 1 Chassis maintains a large inventory of open wheel parts and
accessories at their Mechanicsburg, PA shop. They inventory enough parts and
products to essentially a complete race-ready roller. Mach 1 fabricates many
parts in-house as well as serving as an authorized dealer for many of the sports
leading manufacturers. If they don’t have it, Mach 1 will get it for you!
Take a tour of the Mach 1 Shop by visiting www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8_tib553C4.
For more information, call Mach 1 at 570 898 8018 or visit the shop at 10 North
Frederick Street Mechanicsburg, PA.
The Pioneer Pole Buildings Traffic Jam, rich in history with
fifteen events previously presented will offer heat race qualifying, a
consolation and a 60 lap $5,000 to win main event. The modified payoff with
offer $1,000 for ten and $325 to take the green flag.
Defending PPB Traffic Jam feature winner Danny Johnson will
be in the field along with Jeff Strunk (2011 winner), Craig VonDohren (2010
winner) and Jimmy Horton the 2000 winner of the Traffic Jam are also expected in
the line-up. Modified contenders looking for their first event PPB Traffic
JAM victory include Duane Howard, Ryan Godown, Kevin Hirthler, Doug Manmiller,
Mike Gular and Rick Laubach just to name a few.
Rain check tickets from the July 2 event will be honored at
face value ($22) and tickets may be exchanged at any ticket window on race
night, Tuesday, July 30 for an additional $3. With these two premier
divisions on the same program, the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing
Series is pleased to offer this show for a very reasonable admission price of
just $25 for adults.
In the event of rain, Wednesday night, July 31 will be the
rain date and offer a starting time of 7:30 PM.
We regret the need to remove the ROC Sportsman from this
program but were compelled to do so based off the number of advance tickets sold
and the number of phone call inquiries we received about the 410 sprints.
Thunder on the Hill and Grandview Speedway will look for an alternate date to
reschedule the sportsman. The sportsman are a great division and have
performed so well in previous Thunder Shows, and we deeply apologize for making
this change in the program.
So don’t forget, Tuesday night, July 30 the PPB Modifieds and
MACH 1 Chassis 410 sprints hit the hill at Grandview Speedway.
