BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY PRESENTS THE 33rd ANNUAL GEORGIE STEVENSON MEMORIAL THIS FRIDAY, JULY 5th.

MINERSVILLE, PA - JULY 2nd, 2013

This coming Friday, July 5th, Big Diamond Speedway proudly presents the 33rd running of the Georgie Stevenson Memorial for the ZY Pyrotechnics 358 Modifieds.

This race is run annualy in memory of Georgie Stevenson. Diagnosed with spinal cancer at age six, Georgie Stevenson was a young race fan who made quite an impact on many, many people before passing away much too soon following a six-year battle. Despite his own health issues, Stevenson helped raise money for ill children and adults and accomplished more in his 12 short years than most of us will in a lifetime. For information on Georgie Stevenson and the Georgie Stevenson Memorial Fund, visit www.georgiestevensonmemorial.webs.com.

This years event will go 33 laps and pay $3,300 to win and $330 to take the green. Twenty six cars are expected to take the green flag for the feature event, including one of last years twin-twenty winners; Dan Hineline, 2011 winner Billy Pauch Jr., six time Georgie Stevenson victor Craig Von Dohren, along with a host of others. Heat line-ups will be determined by luck of the draw. Drivers finishing in a handicap position in their heat races will then redraw for their feature starting spots.

Also on the racing card Friday evening will be the Sportsman, Roadrunners, and XCEL 600 Modifieds, all competing in qualifying events and 20 lap features.

Fireworks, always a fan favorite, will be presented at some point during the evening to help celebrate the 4th of July holiday weekend.

Gates open at 5:00 PM, with warm-ups at 7:45 PM and the first heat slated to take the track at 8:15 PM.
