THE TRADITION CONTINUES AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY WITH FREE-TO-THE-PUBLIC PRACTICE SESSION ON MARCH 30TH
BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 21, 2013 . . . A tradition continues when NASCAR
sanctioned Grandview Speedway presents their annual free-to-the-public practice
session Saturday, March 30th with the engines coming to life at noon.
“This gives the racers planning to race here in 2013 to get some testing and tuning time and there will even be some that are just thinking about racing here,” said track owner Bruce Rogers. “Those coming out to enjoy the action will get a chance to see a lot of racers with their new equipment and there will be a variety of types of race cars. It makes for an enjoyable afternoon and it is FREE. And there is no NASCAR license needed for practice day.”
The NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modifieds will again be the headline division in the Saturday night tripleheader action at the Berks County clay oval. The Late Models and Sportsman stock cars will make up the rest of most of the Saturday night shows.
Duane Howard will be back in action looking for his sixth overall title and second straight in the NASCAR 358 Modifieds. Howard is hot off a season opener win at Selinsgrove Speedway recently. Defending champ Chuck Schutz will shoot for his seventh Late Model title. Jared Umbenhauer will go for his second straight Sportsman title.
Fans coming out for the FREE practice session will have the opportunity to purchase season tickets that will guarantee a reserved seat for all the Saturday night events, April through September. And fans that have already purchased their season tickets can pick their reserved seat location.
The chase for the valuable championship points and point fund money gets started on Saturday, April 6th at 7 p.m. with the Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman in racing action. The first 250 paying adults through the main gate will receive a Grandview Speedway water bottle courtesy of the Rogers family. Keith Gerhart will kick off the season with his great rendition of the National Anthem.
Admission for regular Saturday night events is $15 for adults and FREE admission for youngsters 12 and under.
Then on Saturday, April 13th two 35-lap features for the NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be the main attraction. Each feature will pay $3,000 to win plus a $250 bonus from TP Trailers provided the TP decals are on the race car. One driver could have the opportunity to walk off with a total of $6500 for one night of Modified racing action. The Late Models and Sportsman will also be featured in the 7 p.m. show.
This special twin feature show for the Modifieds will carry a $20 admission price for adults and $5 for youngsters 12 and under.
