RACE DESIGNS “PUTS A WARP ON IT” TO JOIN 6TH ANNUAL IRCO DIRT TRACK
HEROES CAR SHOW MARCH 10 TO MARCH 16
An additional
piece of the puzzle came to fruition today for the IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Show
as the popular event continues to gain momentum as the countdown continues for
this highly successful gathering of the past, present and future of auto racing
all coming together under one roof in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. With the IRCO
Community Federal Credit Union back on board as the main event sponsor for the
upcoming Sixth Annual IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Show, the stage is set as
additional sponsors have signed on to help showcase another great event set to
return to the Phillipsburg Mall in 2013 with the opening day set for Sunday,
March 10th.
The show
encompasses the majority of the local short track racing scene and will continue
through Saturday night, March 16th. The Phillipsburg Mall, located on Route 22
East in Phillipsburg, NJ, has proven to be an ideal setting for this special
event and is now undergoing many changes as a new owner, the Mason Asset
Management Group, has taken over ownership of the property and the new Mall
director Lauren Warner is making sure a smooth transition takes place when race
cars in all shapes and sizes arrive for the week long extravaganza. The show
will once again offer a multitude of race cars, racing memorabilia, collectibles
and photos on display throughout the course of the week long event and the
always free of charge racing event continues to be the trend setter of the many
shows that are scheduled throughout the year and gives the loyal racing fans a
chance to see their favorite driving legends or one of the new upstarts talents
chat about their racing careers and sign autographs for them.
With an
exciting and diverse schedule of events to whet the appetite of any true race
fan, large crowds are expected to fill the wide walkways of the Phillipsburg
Mall. This event has been a traditional Mall favorite and one of the leading
attractions for the local racing fans.
The newest
addition to the IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Show's growing list of sponsors in 2013
is Vogel Race Design headed up by Jason Vogel. Vogel is a life long racing fan
and has worked with many teams in the past and is currently working with young
driving star, "The Canaan Sensation" Eddie Strada, whose grandfather and father,
both named Ed, had formidable racing careers on the Southern Tier racing
circuit. Jason is a graduate of the Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts with an
Associates Degree and formed his own company in 2001 to begin putting graphics
on commercial projects and local race cars in the area. His reputation as an
expert in his field has kept his phone ringing off the hook and pointing towards
a bright future for the aspiring graphic artist. Jason is of the belief it
should not cost you an arm and a leg for sharp, high quality graphics and
lettering and will work around each customer's schedule to finish the job
correctly and will travel to your shop or garage to work his magic.
Jason offers
free quotes and can do anything from Tri Axles Dump Trucks to race cars of all
types or street tuners. Vogel Race Designs has what it takes to peak your
interest with bold eye-catching graphics that will look fast even when you are
standing still. Jason will be doing a wrap on a car during the course of the
IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Show so head on out to the Mall and check out his great
design work. Jason can be reached at: 570 903 0811 or you can email him at: vogelracedesigns@yahoo.com The

Vogel Race
Designsjoins show sponsors Smith Fabrications, Martocci's Automotive and MMF
Chassis for the IRCO Dirt Track heroes event. Smith Fabrications, the home of
the Stage One Modifieds, will play an important role in this year's edition of
the show. Richie Smith, while leaving the driver's seat in the mid-90's, has
used his years of knowledge while steering a race car to come up with a scaled
version of the full sized Modifieds he drove to many wins in his racing career
and has come up with the cutting edge, sleek looking Stage One Modified.
Incorporating his solid background in racing and the technical know how to
improve upon the finished product, the Stage One Modified is a beautiful piece
of craftsmanship from the master fabricator Richie Smith. The Stage One race car
is beautiful to look at and the performance of the car on the race track is a
thrill a second for those who have tried the equipment on for size. Touting
affordability and safety as the race car's primary selling points, a ready to
race unit is priced in the neighborhood of $12,000.00. For additional
information regarding the Stage One Modifieds, log-on to their website at: www.smithfabrications.com or

The MMF
Chassis company is headed up by owner and driver Mark Manieri Jr. Mark has
displayed cars at the show in the past but this year comes in as a sponsor and
touting his sharp-looking and high flying MMF Chassis design cars that are built
and assembled in Easton, Pennsylvania. Mark has a rich and storied history in
the sport while following in his father's footsteps to assist the legendary
Modified great, the late Tom Hager. Mark learned his lessons well and used his
knowledge gained to embark on a new enterprise right out of high school. Mark
built his first chassis in 2010 for the 270 Sprint division and enjoyed great
success with it. Mark sustained an injury at his shop in 2011 while building his
first 600 Sprint but after being cleared to race from his doctor, promptly put
the car in victory lane a few weeks later.
Knowing the
timing was right, Mark decided it was time to share his success with the rest of
the racing community. Opening his doors full time in 2012, Mark has built
winning cars as MMF drivers claimed six wins during the 2012 racing campaign. A
new addition to the MMF House has been a TQ Midget that Matt Janisch has steered
to some impressive runs during the indoor season. Mark is diversified in
offering superb fabrication work on any type of race car and the 2013 racing
season will see 18 MMF race cars doing battle in the local area. Mark can be
reached at: 400 Island Park Road in Easton, Pennsylvania and his phone number
is: 484 866 5361. The website for MMF Chassis is: www.mmmfchassis.com. The IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Show
thanks MMF Chassis for coming on board for the event and make sure you talk to
the representatives throughout the event. At MMF Chassis, they drive with the
slogan "attack the track" and might we add, "they don't look
back".
The "Golden
Era" of auto racing from the late fifties through the early eighties was an era
that saw many changes take place in the way the race cars were constructed. The
word "stock" gave way to ingenuity at first and followed closely by technology
as the race cars became less stock appearing and relied more heavily on the
latest speed part that would make the race car go faster. While the years have
changed the look and the cost of racing, the spirit of the competition remains
much as it was when racing in the local area was initially launched. The great
fan base of racing can come out to this grand Mall event and be transported back
to a time when they could hop into their family jitney and travel less than a
half hour to witness the excitement of a night at the races. All historical
racing groups including Reading, Flemington, Harmony, Dorney Park and Nazareth
will have their memorabilia on display and their many scrapbooks open for the
fans to take another long look at the glory years of racing and possibly find a
picture or two they want to purchase as a keepsake or two from past glory or
racing exploits.
Entries are
being accepted to display at the IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Show. More information
is available by calling: 443-513-4456 or you may complete the entry form located
on the home page of the: www.thunderonthehillracingseries.com web site. Follow the simple
instructions posted on the web site to register. Space is available for race
cars of all divisions, non-race cars, street rods, one of a kind vehicles,
vendors and race tracks as well.
In the
previous Mall events, cars on display included big and small block Modifieds,
Sportsman, Micro-Sprints, ARDC Midgets, URC Sprints, TSRS Sprints, Late Models,
go-karts, quarter midgets and a broad variety of vintage and restored race
cars. New Egypt, Grandview, Big Diamond, Bridgeport, Hamlin, Action Track USA,
Borger's and Snydersville will again be among the many speedways involved with
the 2013 show. The week-long event will set aside one evening to salute the
"Stars of Tomorrow" with a special night for the budding young racing talents
competing with the many quarter midget clubs in the local area and this night
has proven to be one of the highlights of the week as many will be giving their
first ever interviews to a sizable crowd.
The IRCO Dirt
Track Heroes Car Show will again offer a great keepsake event souvenir program
book and shirts with special stories regarding the great racers we
watched and cheered on
from the grandstands. The Phillipsburg Mall is open Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM and
from Monday through Saturday 10 AM to 9 PM.
