RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES
ROBBIE STILLWAGGON & FRED KENNEDY EARN 2012 RISLONE URC
SPRINT SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP
It went down to the final point race of the season and it was
Burlington, NJ driver Robbie Stillwaggon who captured the 2012 Rislone URC
Sprint Series Championship. Driving the Fred Kennedy owned #89, the results
of this team also earned Kennedy his first ever URC Owner Championship
Title.
Stillwaggon delivered an outstanding season of strong
finishes and one feature win to be the top point chaser of the season.
Throughout most of the season, Davie Franek and Stillwaggon swapped the point
lead and going into the season finale, Stillwaggon held a twenty-five point
advantage. Franek did not finish the final point race which opened the door for
Stillwaggon.
Stillwaggon and Kennedy officially earned their championship
recognition at the Grandview Speedway on Saturday night following the final
event of the season. With professionalism and grace, Stillwaggon was the
first to congratulate the nights feature winner Art Liedl. Stillwaggon also
thanked and recognized Davie Franek and team for their hard fought battle in
the title chase. The Stillwaggon and Kennedy race team took part in a joyous
celebration which included fireworks salutes. As the URC Champion Owner,
Kennedy earned $6,000 The top ten in URC Owner points received their point
fund money as well.
Fred’s Trailer Parts, a business owned by Fred Kennedy is a
long time sponsor of URC. This year, Fred’s Trailer Parts elected to offer
loyalty payout of $3,500 that was distributed to URC Owners that finished
11th through 20th in points.
Dan Mazy of Lions Station, PA was named the URC Rookie of
the Year for 2012. Mazy collected $600 and a Simpson helmet for the Rookie of
the Year honor.
