RACERS ROUNDTABLE PRESS RELEASE (REVISED)

Click on read more..

Racers Roundtable (RRT) has seen its share of co hosts through out it's years, there has been many former drivers and even a super fan, but the one thing that stays the same is Pete Knappenberger and Ernie Saxton.
Pete started the show back in 1992 with "Racing Rap-up" it was on a small AM station in Bethlehem Pa it never really reached to many listeners, don't get me wrong, people listened but it was small niche audience.
Pete asked Ernie to do a half hour segment on the show, Ernie would cover Grandview Speedway, nascar and any other form of racing that came to his mind that week.

Ernie proved to be a great addition to the show, for a while Pete did the show by himself and Ernie was his only go to guy so Pete decided to shorten the show to a half an hour and just do the show with Ernie.
As time went on the shows time slot got longer and the content got better, In 2007 Pete decided to move the show to Lehigh Carbon Community College, a small FM signal, the main goal was to help the college station out with money and the same time reach a few more listeners with a larger signal.

Now in 2012 with Ernie by his side for his 19th year,RRT will be moving on to bigger and better things, with times changing and people using the internet for more than just dating sites and finding a good place to eat, it is a great time to broadcast a "radio show" from there.
" I feel that the show is finally where it needs to be, we have a segment for everybody, Local asphalt with Dino Oberto, announcer at Pocono and Mahoning Valley Speedway and writer for several papers, we will have an interview segment in the first hour we will bring back the 'Roundtable" discussion with Mike Feltenberger from "Strapped in Magazine", area writers and guests then we will finish up the show with Ernie saxton covering NASCAR and Grandview Speedway like always."

Pete's wife Amy is now by his side, while she doesn't add much on the microphone she adds a lot to the show doing research and attending to our 5,000 plus fans on Face Book. Whippy was added to the show about five or six years ago when John Hagen stepped down from the Mic, he adds a very exciting side to the "radio" , the fans side of things. Together they all form one of the best shows out there called Racers Roundtable, the show can still be heard on Sunday Nights at 8pm on the website, www.racersroundtable.com.

The show is funny, entertaining and informative, check it out, they will back on the air in March of 2012, while you wait for the show to come back live check out some of the past shows on the site, just click the RRT logo and select one of the dates....
