EARLY ENTIRES ALREADY IN FOR THE TUESDAY, JULY 12 STARS under the STARS EVENT AT LINCOLN SPEEDWAY
One of the most talked about events over the past weekend is the Tuesday night, July 12 ROC Modified & Sprint Doubleheader set to take place at the Lincoln Speedway. Modified drivers already giving the nod to be at Lincoln Speedway for this blockbuster show include Duane Howard, Richie Pratt, Kevin Hirthler and Rick Laubach. Pre-entries for the 358/360 Sprint portion include Mark Smith, Shane Smith, Chad Trout and Glenndon Forsythe. This event is almost six months away but driver are pre-entering already.
PPB, Pioneer Pole Buildings is on-board and sponsor of the inaugural running of the $5,000 to win ROC Modified visit to the Pigeon Hills three-eighth mile oval. Adding to the modified payoff is Ed and Laurie Ackerman, offering a $300 cash bonus to the highest finishing Western PA or BRP Modified tour competitor.
For the 358/360 Sprints, MACH 1 Chassis has richened the pot posting a $3,000 first place prize plus, an additional $500 bonus to the top finishing MACH 1 Chassis.
The 358/360 sprints are quite familiar with the Abbottstown, PA speedway but for the modifieds, this will be their first visit in over twenty-five years. In fact, Kenny Brightbill is the only current day modified driver that has won a modified race at Lincoln.
With the local Pennsylvania and New Jersey modified drivers facing off against the best of the ROC (Race of Champions), this could be a war of wars, to only be compared with the July 1863 Battle of Gettysburg, that took place just several mile from Lincoln Speedway. One thing for sure, this war of stars will not be a reenactment, but the "real deal".
The ROC Modifieds will compete in a series of qualifying events leading up to the PPB 60 Lap Modified feature. For the 358/360 Sprints, qualifying events will determine the starting line-up for the 25 lap MACH 1 Chassis feature event. Time trials will not be part of the qualifying process.
Lincoln Speedway is one of the most "fan friendly" tracks in the tri-state area, offering great unobstructed viewing from every seat in the grandstands. The infield is open for watching the races by entering through the fourth turn tunnel. The pits are asphalt, with a slight elevation and great lighting a so fans can watch all the pit action as well.
The three-eighth mile Lincoln Speedway offers it all, the high speeds that you would see at the "big tracks" with the flair and excitement of the short track "bull rings". At Lincoln Speedway, you'll have it all.
Thanks to the strong sponsorship support from NAPA Auto Parts, Pioneer Pole Buildings and MACH 1 Chassis, this star filled event will offer a very reasonable admission price of $20 for adults, $5 for children 6-11 and children under the age of 6 will be admitted free. The pit fee will be $25 and a pit license will not be required.
Lincoln Speedway is one of the premier weekly racing facilities with superb track conditions and it's just a downright comfortable place to enjoy a race. Mark your calendar for Tuesday night, July 12 when the Stars Race Under The Stars at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA. This event is a Bob Miller/Speedway Promotions LLC presentation.
