Registration Open For Fairlane Village Mall Big Diamond Speedway Race Car Show; Kenny Eckert Jr. Files First Official Entry
MINERSVILLE, PA - Registration for the Big Diamond Speedway Race Car Show at the Fairlane Village Mall is underway.
After an absence of several years, race cars will return to the to the Pottsville, Pa., shopping center for the Big Diamond Speedway Race Car Show March 7-12, 2011. The show's comeback has been well received by the racing faithful in Schuylkill County and the surrounding areas.
Kenny Eckert Jr., a New Ringgold, Pa.-based Sportsman racer at the Coal Region oval, filed the first entry for the show with the No. 520.
The Fairlane Village Mall, "Where Schuylkill County Shops," is located in close proximity to Big Diamond Speedway and its local race teams. The return of the Big Diamond Race Car Show provides a great opportunity for Big Diamond competitors to promote their sponsors and home track.
Teams from Big Diamond's weekly divisions, the 358-Modifieds, Sportsman and Roadrunners are invited to participate, in addition to Enduro racers and touring series divisions that visit Big D during the season. Other local race teams are welcome to take part in the show, as well.
Race team move-in will be Sunday, March 6 at 5 p.m., with move-out Sunday, March 13 at 9:30 a.m.

Big Diamond Speedway opens its 39th season Sunday, April 3 at 5 p.m. with a 35-lap 358-Modified feature paying $3,000 to the winner plus Sportsman and Roadrunners. An open practice is set for March 27.
