Geezer Gazette 5-10-17

RANDVIEW MAY 6TH, RAIN OUT

QUICK RESULTS:

Mother Nature wins again… After a gallant (is that a word?) effort by track management, a steady rain decided to come through and visit the speedway forcing cancellation of Saturday evenings events. We will try again this coming Saturday (5-13). Cathy, Jim, Ken and Brett were ready for action in the pits, so thank you very much for being there until the showers ruined our fun…

GEEZER GAB:

·         The turn 4 Geezer GanG will be in full force, with Sister Sally organizing a huge group to cheer on the #22 and have some fun in the dirt for their annual ‘’Night at the races’’.
·         Team 22 helped the Greens with their # 46 Super Late Model motor and chassis strip last Tuesday evening and what a fun group to work with… 3 generations working in the shop and making progress, how cool. They head out for a three day race weekend in the super late and team 22 wishes them luck !!
·         Speaking of great teams to be associated with, Steve Bartorillo the owner of KAM Fueled Racing team and his new driver are improving weekly in the #28 BRC Late Model. Driver Andrew Cassel is doing his part, and looks to be getting more comfortable every week. Some bad racing luck has hampered their finishes, but plenty of season left to improve on !! Sounds like the BRC Late Models will be trying time trials to determine feature line up as an experiment this Saturday. I agree with what they are doing and it should help keep the show moving.
·         Thanks Ken Loux for the productive night in the #22 headquarters last Thursday evening… lots done. Motor leak down test, compression test, adjusted valves, checked plugs and scaled the car… all part of the behind the scenes maintenance to run a team. I laugh when people think it’s easy and a reason why all teams are looking for help.
·         Pretty certain every track in the area rained out this past weekend, no exciting news to report, car counts should be up for all divisions…
·         Happy Birthday to Joe Adams, he will be 29 tomorrow ( Tuesday 5-9).
·         Don’t forget, this Sunday is Mother’s Day. Anyone who proves they are a Mother will get free parking on speedway grounds for this Saturday without mentioning Geezer. Have a picture of your first born, a birth certificate and be expected to do 60 sit ups to receive your parking voucher. Your welcome.
·         Congrats to Sean Weiss, he ran the 400 meter hurdles Saturday in his last track and field event before graduating with high honors (I made that up) and posted a 3rd place finish in the MAC event !! Also understand he may have made a connection for an Engineering position recently, thanks to the Geezer Gazette… their will probably be a surcharge or a fee for that, the bi-laws are pretty clear. LOL
·         I will be doing a book signing Saturday night after the races… bring me a book, and I’ll sign it for you, any book, doesn’t matter.
