BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 21, 2016 . . . For the second year in a row Craig VonDohren could very well be on the way to the NASCAR T.P.Trailers 358 Modified championship at Grandview Speedway. The veteran racing talent, winner of his 100th Grandview feature on Saturday night, has 4004 points to his credit. VonDohren earned his fifth feature win of the season Saturday
Second spot in the standings is held by Mike Gular who has not been able to crack victory lane but his consistent strong finishes have earned him 3875 points. Third in the points is 10-time champion Jeff Strunk who has tallied two wins and 3765 points.
Just two point events remain on the schedule for the 2016 season.
In the Sportsman standings Craig Whitmoyer is on top searching for his first title at the Bechtelsville, PA clay oval. The veteran racer has 2750 points and one feature win. Second spot is held by Jordan Henn with one win and 2614 tallies while Mike Lisowski sits third having two feature wins and 2610 points.
Defending champion Chuck Schutz has a healthy lead in the BRC Late Model standings as he looks for another title. Schutz has 3229 points and three feature victories. Long time campaigner Wayne Pfeil is second with 2983 counters and a feature win. Talented young Dan Green has moved into third spot with 2897 points without benefit of a feature win.
NASCAR stock car racing action returns to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, August 27th, featuring the T.P.Trailers 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman along with Blast from the Past Vintage racers. The night of racing is sponsored by A.D.Moyer Lumber and gets started at 7:30 p.m.Just two nights of point racing remain in the 2016 season.
And on Sunday, August 28th the Outlaw Enduro Series and Vintage Cars will be in action starting at 1 p.m. There will be twin 60-lap features for Enduro big cars and twin 60-lap features for Enduro small cars. A Ladies race is open all ladies and there will be two-15-lap Vintage car feature races. Adult admission is $10 with all youngsters 12 and under admitted for free. Four lucky youngsters get a chance to throw the green flag for the start of a feature race.
