The 32nd Annual Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Show at the York Expo Center (Memorial Hall) will begin on Friday, January 23, 2015 (4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.).  Saturday show hours are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  The set-up day will be Thursday, January 22.
The Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Show has seen some change in recent years, however one thing that has remained the same since the inception of the show is the title sponsor, Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships.  The Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships has been locally owned and operated by the Giambalvo family for more than 35 years.  Nicole Berkebile will be at the show with cars featured throughout the show.  The Jack Giambalvo Family of Dealerships includes Buick, Chrysler, GMC, Dodge, Hyundai, Jeep, RAM and Mazda.
Jarett Andretti, the 2014 USAC National Sprint Car Rookie of the Year, will also make an appearance at the Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Showon Saturday in the Schaeffer Oil booth throughout Saturday to meet fans and sign autographs.  Jarett is part of the world famous Andretti clan; son of John, cousin of Marco, nephew of Michael, grandson of Aldo and great nephew of Mario.  “I’m excited to return to Central PA to meet its great fans.  They are some of the best short track fans in the country,” said Andretti.  He has already secured a ride for the upcoming USAC Eastern Storm Tour that visits the area in early June.
John Krall, a newly appointed show director, has put together an entertaining program on Saturday night featuring racing families from Central Pennsylvania.  In an anticipated annual program to the Central PA Dirt Trackin Show, three families will be recognized on the main stage featuring a question and answer period following the presentation.  At 6:00 p.m., the Leiby family will be on the stage including Lincoln Speedway co-promoter Bob Leiby and his grandson Chandler.  At 7:00 p.m. the highly recognized Mackison Family will take the stage.  A large contingent of the nationally known Eckert Family including former World of Outlaw Late Model Champion, Rick Eckert will take the stage at 8:00 p.m.  “We are excited about the new installment to the show with the Racing Families portion,” said John Krall.  “This year will be a lot of fun and we look forward to recognizing more families in the years to come.”
Many speedways will be on hand to promote their events to race fans for the 2015 season.  Many racers will also be displaying their rides for the upcoming season, showing off their sponsors and new paint schemes.  The cars displayed will include a wide variety of Sprint Cars, Late Models, Stock Cars, Legends Cars, Classic Cars, All American Outlaws, Quarter Midgets, Go Karts and more.   All car judging will be held before the doors open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23.  Awards will include Best of Show; Best Open Wheel; Best Stock Car; Best Late Model; Best Quarter Midget; Best Go Kart and more.  Vehicle display forms are available online and all cars must be pre-registered in order to receive the complimentary weekend passes.

One major change coming to the show for 2015 will be replacing the “Best Appearing Car of the Show” award with the “Most Popular Car of the Show” award.  Paying attendees of the show will each receive vote for their favorite car of the show and the winner will receive $1,000 for their efforts.   All cars must be pre-entered for the show as space will be limited with the additional activities and displays planned for 2015.  Drivers are also encouraged to set up near their cars to sign autographs and sell merchandise and t-shirts from last year as well as the upcoming year.  There is no charge to the drivers to do this.

On Saturday at 4:00 p.m. there will be a seminar title “How to Get Involved in Racing as A Driver or Crewmember” on the Insinger Performance/Sunoco main stage. Regional PA Sprint Series Director, Rod Ort and the Sidewinder Sprint Car Director, Rohan Beasley will offer a description of the various forms of entry level racing and insights on how to get started in the world of local short track racing.  To go from the grandstands to the pits can be an intimidating experience, however these local directors will help ease your feelings about getting more involved in the exciting sport of racing as a participant.  Costs, time and mechanical experience will be discussed in this valuable seminar.

The 13th Annual Ms. Dirt Trackin’ contest will be held on Friday night, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. in which the winner will receive $500.00 along with other awards.  The Pageant coordinator will be Jaynee Zeigler (msdirttrackin2011@hotmail.com), a former Ms. Dirt Trackin’ winner from 2011.  All participants must be at least 18 years of age.  Contest rules and entry forms are available online at www.dirttrackinshow.com.  Last year, after 8 years of competing in the competition, Biglerville’s Trish Heller was crowned Ms. Dirt Trackin’ 2014.

Dirt Trackin’ Show News & Notes
- Date Change of Motorsports Show in Oaks, PAAlthough the Motorsports Show producers moved their show to the same date as the Central PA Dirt Trackin’ Show, both shows should be fine.  Producers of both show discussed it over the summer when the conflict was discovered.  The Fishers tried to find an alternative but the next available date at the York Fairgrounds was not until mid-April which made it not feasible.  In the past, the two shows have been on the same weekends during a few times and both have continued to survive.  We do not expect any issues this year as well.  </o:p>
&nbsp;
- Vintage Toy Display All Weekend - Barry Skelly, of Barry Skelly’s Collector Toys will have many racing related toys from his vast collection on display all three days of the event as well.  This display will rekindle the memories of those who played with these toys that sparked their lifelong interest of auto racing.
