Sicklerville, NJ (October 1, 2014) – With the final quarter of the year beginning, the 2014 racing season is winding down for the B&M Motorsports team. The team comprised of three young drivers has only a handful of races remaining on its schedule.
Brett Ballard will be at Bridgeport Speedway on Friday, October 3. He will be competing in the Rock and Roll 33 which will feature Modified cars on the quarter mile track. This past Sunday, the driver from Pennsville, NJ competed in the Friends of Mike Race of Champions event at Bridgeport Speedway. Ballard started the evening on a very strong note by finishing third in his heat race. Battling an ill handling race car from the beginning of the 60-lap feature, Ballard dropped out of the contest on lap 42 and finished in twenty-fifth place. The Rock and Roll 33 race may be his last race of the season. His current marketing partners include John Latwinas Farmers Insurance Agency of Sicklerville, NJ, Larkin Auto Service, CB Productions, CTS Lawn Care, and Delran Auto Body.
Brad Roberts will be joining his teammate Ballard at the Rock and Roll 33. On Friday, September 26, Roberts tested his Bicknell Sportsman car on the quarter mile and came away very pleased with his effort. After the Rock and Roll 33, Roberts will be heading to Grandview Speedway on Saturday, October 18 to compete in the Thunder on the Hill event with his Sportsman race car. Array of Monograms, Ronnie’s Auto Repair, Roberts Motors, and Nucar Wholesale Parts are his current marketing partners.
Although Ballard and Roberts have a few more races this year, Matt Budd has completed his racing for 2014. Budd, who works at Vahlco Racing Wheels, capped of his year with the Beach Blast race in August at Georgetown Speedway. Budd’s marketing partners in 2014 include Racersguide.com, Vahlco Racing Wheels, and Rick Sweeten Images.

UNAVOIDABLE COLLISION STOPS BARONE’S ATTEMPT AT ANOTHER STRONG RUN
Sicklerville, NJ (September 30, 2014) – At Bridgeport Speedway’s Friends of Mike event on Sunday, September 28, an unavoidable collision during the feature stopped Mike Barone’s attempt at another strong run.
Barone, who came back on September 19 after a two month absence due to an engine issue, was seeking a second consecutive top ten finish. With forty-one modifieds entered on this night, qualifying was going to be a chore but Barone was up for the challenge. After starting seventh in the fourth heat race, the Hillsborough, NJ driver would finish in third place and qualify for the extra distance 60-lap affair. Starting sixteenth in the thirty-one car field, Barone ran at a steady pace during the early moments of the contest. At the one-third mark, he had advanced into fourteenth place. On lap 30 in turns three and four, several cars got together and blocked the track. With no escape route, Barone collided with another competitor. “I had nowhere else to go,” stated Barone. The impact damaged the front suspension and steering on his Bicknell Modified and ended his night of racing. Barone’s finishing spot was listed as twenty-seventh. His next start will be at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, October 4.
