12TH ANNUAL BILL THOMAS MEMORIAL SET FOR SATURDAY
 
      The biggest event on the quarter mile at Bridgeport Speedway is set for Saturday, October 19th.  On the card will be the wingless 600cc Micro Sprints, winged 270cc Micro Sprints, the Slingshots by Tobias, Four and Eight Cylinder Enduros and Vintage Stocks.  Gate open at 3pm, with hot laps starting at 5pm.  The first green flag for qualifying will be thrown at 6pm.
 
     The wingless 600cc Micro Sprints will compete in a 40-lap, $1,200 to win feature event.  There have been four wingless 600cc Micro Sprint features this season with Tim Buckwalter winning the open event in the Poker Series in April.  Alex Bright won the second round of the Poker Series in August and Lee Nardelli, who had never raced a wingless 600cc Micro until his win in September also earned a guaranteed birth in Saturday’s feature event by winning the qualifier on October 3rd.  2014 point champion, Luke Thomas will lead the Bridgeport regulars competing for the top prize.  Bill Thomas, the 2013 event winner will be back to defend his title in the event named in memorial for his father.  Andrew Locuson, Sam Locuson and Jim Tippin will also looking to shutout the invaders for the top prize.
 
     The 270cc Micro Sprints will compete in a 30-lap, $1,000 to win feature event providing that at least 24 - 270’s are on hand for the event.  Two-time point champion, Tyler Reinhardt will lead the charge of the Bridgeport regulars.  Reinhardt has a leg up on the competition since he earned a guaranteed birth by winning the qualifier on October 3rd.  Chris Locuson will be looking to defend his win from 2013 along with five-time feature winner Joe Dopke; Glenn Frye, Jr., Billy Gray and John Blanda.
 
     The Slingshots by Tobias will be on hand to compete in 20-lap feature event.  Up for grabs for the visiting Slingshots will be the checkered flag in the feature event but also the top hand in the 2014 JeffreyHogueRealtor.com Action Track USA/OMS Racing Poker Series.  Seven drivers have the opportunity to grab $500 top prize in the Poker Series with three-time winner B.J. Antonio currently having the best hand with a pair of queens.
 
     The Four-Cylinder and Eight-Cylinders Enduros along with the Vintage Stocks will complete the action on the quarter mile for the final event of the 2014 season.
