LINDA'S SPEEDWAY "IRON COWBOY 30" RESULTS 9/26/14

Jason Swavely is the Iron Cowboy 2014

The Iron Cowboy race was designed for a driver that carries his car to the edge of of its limits and the winner did just that Friday night. Time Trials for the Hoosier Tire Wingless 600 Sprints were r...un Friday with Jason Swavely setting quick time. Swavely then went into a six car inverted heat race and won as well. That put him on the pole of the feature event. Swavely got out front right away, but soon he was joined by a hard charging Tim Buckwalter. Buckwalter and Kyle Lick put the pressure on Swavely in the early laps of the event. Soon Action Track USA champion Jay Hartman would join that battle along with Jacob Severn. Lick broke and went pit side while Swavely and Buckwalter started to separate themselves from the field. Eddie Strada came into play near half way. He was never able to challenge the top two but had a good race with Hartman and Severn. Buckwalter took one last shot at a slide job on a lap 23 restart. Swavely was unshaken on his way to a $700 payday and the first ever Iron Coyboy win at Linda's Speedway. Buckwalter was second, Hartman third, Severn fourth, and Strada was fifth. Tony Dimattia had a sixth place finish holding off Brett Michalski, Kenny Murray, Chad Sandt, and Grady Johnson. Heat race winners were Swavely, Dimattia, Johnson, and Eric Whitby while the B Main wins went to Bruce Buckwalter and Mike Rutherford. 36 cars were signed in for the first Iron Cowboy race.
