Bridgeport Speedway Weekend Press Release‏

FRIDAY NIGHT SHOW TO DETERMINE TRACK CHAMPIONS
Bridgeport's Final Night of Points on Friday

All racing action at the Bridgeport Speedway takes place this weekend on Friday night as the champions will be determined in the Spirit Dodge Big Block Modifieds, 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman and Stewart Stainless Outlaw Stocks on the final points night of the 2014 season.

The Sensational One, Jimmy Horton, has already added six more wins to his totals this season.  The winningest driver in the history of the Bridgeport Speedway could clinch another track title to add to his collection.  Horton holds a comfortable lead over second place driver Richie Pratt, Jr. and 2013 Bridgeport Champion Ryan Watt.  Three time Bridgeport Champion, Wade Hendrickson is fourth in points, while 2012 Bridgeport Champion, Rick Laubach sits in fifth going into the final race.  There is still time for drivers to move up or down in the championship standings.  There will be several invading drivers that will be in attendance shaking down their cars for a quick Friends of Mike 'tune up'.  Pennsylvania stars Craig VonDohren, Duane Howard, and Kyle Merkel plan on dialing in their cars on Friday, as does 2014 New Egypt Speedway champion Ryan Godown.

Travis Hill has led the points in the Crate/Sportsman division for most of the season.  Like Horton, Hill has a healthy advantage over his nearest competitor, Steve Searock.  Rounding out the top 6 are CJ Jones, Jesse Bonaduce, Kris Lilick and Gary Hieber Jr. who can still be movers and shakers given the right set of circumstances.  Just like the modifieds, several invaders are expected including Clay Butler, Will Dupree, and Mark Behm.

The closest of the three divisions - the Outlaw Stocks - finds Jeramy Doerr just two points ahead of Jimmy Avery going into the final night.  There is a four point difference between first and second and also between second and third for the final night of points so it will all come down to the fifteen lap main event on Friday night.

Always a fan favorite, the Big Block Modifieds will pre-stage behind the grandstands prior to their feature event on Friday.  The Bridgeport Bandit will be on hand to welcome fans and the Bandit Bus will be available to take fans into the pit area throughout the night.

Racing gets underway at 8pm with grandstands opening at 6pm.
