Dan Green Finishes 4th On Second Night of Season

Bechtelsville, PA – Race day is always a busy day, finishing up details to the car so the night goes according to plan makes for a long day. Things went well until we got to the track and started the generator and found out there was something wrong with it. So a quick call to crew member Todd Lapp had him bringing his to the track, that way we could have some lights and the air compressor.
Dan buckled into the Ken's Towing #46 NASCAR Dirt Late Model for warm-ups, taking the 5 laps on a slick surface told him that the car was good to go and the hard work and the extra day in the shop during the week was worth it. With the car back in the pits it gave the crew a chance to clean and check it over to make sure it was ready for the heat race.
The line-ups posted and Dan started 6th in the first heat, the HOTROD Tracker #46 took the green passed a few cars, avoided a couple accidents and finish 3rd in the 8 lap race. Kory Fleming in the #704 took the win followed by Chuck Schultz in the #ONE then the HOTROD Tracker #46 with Randy Stoudt in the #10 finishing 4th.
The work doesn't stop with the checkered flag, the time between the heat and feature is sometimes the busiest time for the crew. Todd Lapp, Jesse Bivins, Scott Green, Greg Hoffmaster, Bob Higginbotham, Brett Higginbotham, Debbie Dutter and Cathy Green all went to work on the car to make the changes that were needed. Dan kept an eye on the track to see how it was to make sure he knew where the grove was so he can run the best times he could.
Feature time and Dan was scheduled to start 6th but Lou Egrie Jr decided to start in the rear so that put Dan 5th. The 25 lap race got the green and Dan drove the Scott Chevrolet #46 to the bottom of the track to hold on to his spot. After one lap the caution came out for a spin in turn one. Back to green for two laps then the race went green for 13 laps where Dan and Lou Egrie had a good battle going for 4th after they both got by the #92 of Dirk Rimrott. Dan was able to get by the #X4 of Egrie and was closing in on the #704 of Fleming when the caution came out. Going back to green Dan was right on the back bumper of Fleming and just as Dan was beside Fleming to take the spot the caution came out again. The line up for the restart was the #10 Stoudt, #ONE Schultz, #704 Fleming, #46 Green and #X4 Egrie. The green came out for the final time with the last 7 laps going nonstop. The top 5 did not change though Dan put a lot of pressure on Fleming at the end. The 4th place finish was Dan's best career finish so far in the short time he has been running the Late Model class. “We hit on something tonight and the car worked really well!” was Dan's comment. With the 4th place finis, Dan moved in to 3rd place in points for the season!
