BALLARD AND ROBERTS FROM B&M MOTORSPORTS KICKOFF THEIR 2014 RACING SEASONS

Sicklerville, NJ (April 14, 2014) – Two of the three drivers that make up  B&M Motorsports kicked off their 2014 racing season this past weekend. Brett Ballard competed at two different tracks this past weekend. On Friday, April 11, the Pennsville, NJ native ventured to Georgetown Speedway in Southern Delaware with his Crate/Sportsman car. Ballard finished in fifth place after starting the feature in sixth. On Saturday, Ballard entered the Big Block Modified ranks with his new 2014 Teo Pro Car powered by a Jay Larkin engine. After battling some handling issues, Ballard finished third in the consolation event to qualify for the 25-lap feature. Coming from twentieth place, Ballard paced himself for the first fifteen circuits. During the final ten laps, Ballard was able to cruise his way forward and finished the race in eleventh place.

Also on Saturday at Bridgeport Speedway, Brad Roberts qualified for the 20-lap 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman feature event by finishing fourth in the second heat race. In the main event, Roberts made a pit stop to change a right rear tire following a red flag incident on the tenth tour. When green flag racing resumed, the young man from Delaware passed several competitors in the final half of the race to complete the contest in seventh place.

Matt Budd, the third member of the B&M Motorsports team, is running a limited schedule in 2014 with his Crate/Sportsman car.  He along with Ballard and Roberts will be competing on Sunday, April 20 at Bridgeport Speedway’s 60 Over Special honoring the late Doug Hoffman, the former promoter of the Southern New Jersey facility. Racing is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
